It's SOOOO GOOD!
Anyway, in one of the episodes in Season 3, Jesse Pinkman talks about his experience with a teacher and building something for class. His teacher asked that question [above] after he turned in a really awful assignment.
This quote can basically go a few ways, but generally it's directed to lazy people.

I figured this was an appropriate quote for me and anyone in this field. It gives a bit of perspective because in this industry alot of the excuses that keep us from asking these questions can be, but not limited to:
- Deadlines
- Money
- Client
- Resources
- Laziness
All of these are along the same line except maybe, the laziness, but that's a different issue.
In this industry, you have to be completely and utterly passionate about what you want to do because most of the time it's a thankless job. So you have to create the your own drive.
The art is for you so treat it that way.
In a way, that statement is pretty false because it will in the end reach a client that will pay for your services but for that moment that your hands on it you can do what you please as long as you stay in the parameters.
For example, if you have to animate a dancing waffle. Don't just make him jump around, make him dance like a rotund man that just got some cake in his belly. [idk where that came from]

In many cases that I run into, it's not that I haven't done everything in my power, but I don't know what I'm looking to improve.
So I pretty much go through this process:
- Look at something you've done
- Ask yourself if you've done everything you could in your power to make it awesome
- Ask someone else to look at it.
And in the end, I get to collaborate with my peers and make something more awesome that I ever could imagine. [if that makes any sense]
